Making its dramatic entrance on the stage of history, the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 was the dark horse that hardly needed a spotlight. A spectacular specimen of vehicular virtuosity, and number 1,258 out of a limited run of 3,300 examples, this monster lands a hefty punch in the muscles of every car enthusiast (not that I, Victor, claim such a pedestrian title).
Glancing at the Specter in Gray
The Demon 170’s Destiny Gray ensemble exudes an aura reminiscent of a stormy evening. However, this storm certainly doesn’t need a silver lining, it’s got one in gunmetal and satin black graphics. The “Alcohol Injected” lettering on the hood-scoop bezel serves as a cheeky dare to any who would underestimate this metal beast.
Ulterior Motives Behind the Demon, Unveiled
Our demon packs quite a punch under its rugged exterior. A supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi High-Output V8, producing around 1,025 horsepower and 945 lb-ft of torque, rests beneath the hood. All of this raw strength is sent to snipe the asphalt right beneath the rear wheels through a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission.

As far as adieus go, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 definitely didn’t whisper a ‘goodbye,’ it roared it. But while its time in the sun has come to an end, this magnificent mechanical marvel continues to cast a long, intimidating shadow in the annals of automobile history. It’s a testament to its own greatness, a fabulous, furious, and dare we say, fiendishly fun ride.
