Breaking Down the Modena Trove
Yes, that’s quite enough merriment for now – so let’s get back to the Modena. It has all the usual trimmings; xenon lights, a Challenge-style grille and the quad exhaust outlets. Though the side mirror wears a blemish, it mirrors the year 2002 in showing a few well-earned scars.
The Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires cushion the 18″ rims whilst black-finished Ferrari-branded calipers embrace the rotors. Talk about a love-hate relationship. The interior speaks volumes with beige power-adjustable seats, blue dashboard and a gated shifter. Alumni pedal, a feature that does nothing for speed but much for aesthetics, is worth witnessing.
Odometer & Other Oddments
The Tipo F131 V8 engine, with its flat-plane crankshaft and five-valve per cylinder construction, plays a pseudo-orchestral 395 horsepower melody. And with 53k miles logged, we can safely say that this speedster has lived – but not without a trace; the handbrake lever boot and driver’s seat wear their age like badges of honor.
In summary, this Modena could be your (thoroughly old-school and expensively fun) time machine back to 2002. Just don’t forget to pack a sense of humor and a set of spare Hankook tires.
